Day 18

Hi peoples!

I'm back once again. It's been kind of weird the last few days, we have managed to moved twice in one RV site. First we were in site 47 then 32 and now 62. Since we have so much stuff in our storage unit, we had to see if we could stay longer at the same campsite. We got here last Tuesday night thinking we were going to leave Saturday. But we needed more time, so my mom went to the front office and was able to get one more night. But, of course, with the jam packed storage unit that we have, my mom had to, once again, go to the office to get more time. So... now we are here in Eagle 'till Thursday the 31st.

Besides that, nothing has really happened. Just been biking and scootering and swimming and meeting a lot of very nice people at the dog park where I will sometimes take Sammy.

I met a nice gentleman there who had two dogs, Jake and Austin, that I'm pretty sure were Shih-Tzu's (Not sure I spelled that right), but they looked a bit stockier. Their owner is doing the same thing that we are! Traveling in a RV! Is it just me or does that seem to be getting pretty popular? I also met somebody else who owns an old black lab, Mulligan, that looked identical to Sammy, and a little dog, Little Bit, that looked so cute! It was the first time I've seen a tiny dog chase after a ball! I was surprised at how friendly Little Bit and Mulligan were to each other. Sammy got along well with them. They would all chase after the ball.

P.S. Here's a map of the park. It will make it easier to under stand where every thing is. You can see the sites we've been to. 47, 32, and 62. You can see why 62 is so awesome! It's close to the main area! ;D

Sorry, it didn't come out too well. All of our sites are on the left side of the main area.

Day 14

Hi peoples!

So far so good. Jack and I have been playing in the pool here in Eagle a lot since we got here. Have you ever gotten in to a hot tub and then quickly jump into a pool? Man! It is the most refreshing thing on a hot day! It takes a bit to got use to the heat in the hot tub, though. :) The pool here is pretty shallow. It gets deeper in the middle and has nice stairs at the ends. The deepest it gets is probably around five feet. I wish you could see the shape of the hot tub! It kinda looks like a jelly bean but with more "bubbles" in the shape.

Here we go. Found a picture online! It' not the greatest, but it's the only one I could find. The weird shaped one is the hut tub. The building in the background is where the rec hall, office, laundry, and exercise room are.

Today we had to get our passports done, I guess it isn't "So far so good". It was a very annoying experience. I had no idea there are so many rules just to take a picture of yourself! Like: No tank tops, no glasses, no showing teeth or smiling, you have to show your ears, and no jewelry! Sheesh! It took us a while to get that done. When we went to the place for passports, they said me, my mom, and Shane all had to re-do ours pictures because we were smiling. So when we got to Walgreens to take the picture, they slapped the no tank tops rule on me. My mom took her picture first, then we changed shirts to take mine! Haha! :D So yeah, I don't want that fiasco to happen ever again.

I suppose that's all for tonight. Good evening.

Day 12

Hi peoples!

Sorry it's been so long. I guess I lost track of time. A lot of stuff has happened in six days! Like the eclipse! Boy! It was great! We were in Lakeview, Oregon. It was a nice campsite, with a lot of green grass, a ton of cows, and lots and lots of land. Here's the link:
http://www.junipersrv.com/ . We saw about 94% of the eclipse at that campsite. Thank goodness we got eclipse glasses at the campsite we were at before that. Detroit Lake, Oregon. http://oregonstateparks.org/index.cfm?do=parkPage.dsp_parkPage&parkId=65

I was able to figure out how to put links up. ;) Anyway, I was very surprised at how cold it got during the eclipse. We had to turn the lights on in the camper. We didn't see the total eclipse, but it was still pretty cool. The same day, a lot of people left the campsite.

Let's see what else that has happened in the last six days. Ok, so bad news first: When we were in Lapine State park some chipmunks ate all the peppers I had on my plant. So now it looks naked. :( But that's all right, I have some tomatoes growing on my tomato plant. :D Some more bad news. My older bro Shane tripped over a big rock in the dark when we were at Lakeview. He has some nasty cuts on his legs to prove it. Today we got , by the looks of it,a tent poll stuck underneath our trailer. The RV now has a "scar" on the outer shell near the wheels. The last time that happened we had our old camper with our us. But we were less fortunate. That time it actually hit our tire and it exploded! When we pulled over, a nice man pulled over to help us fix it. The hole was about a foot long!

Now for some good news. My little brother, Jack lost his tooth! First tooth to loose in an RV for him! :) And Sammy, my puppy, has some good news for him, but not so much for us. Last night he had some fun rolling in poop! He was very proud of himself. You could see it written all over his smiling face.

Right now I am writing this blog in Eagle, Idaho. We got he from Lakeview at 6:30pm-ish.

I gotta go. It's bed time for me. I'm about to fall asleep on the keyboard. Good-night! ;)

Day 6

Hi peoples!

Today is the last day we stay Nehalem Bay State Park. Tomorrow morning we are heading out. We were origonaly going to head back to boise, (Where we used to live), But the place we want to stay at is full. The reason we were going to head back was because we had so much stuff in our house to sell, and so little time to do so that we had to get a storage unit. Eventuwally we have to head back to Boise. For now we have to find some other places to stay in Oregon. I'm not sure what we are doing yet.

Last night my family and I went down to the beach to see the sun set. And it was beautiful. The sun itself was orange. Before we left to head back to the camper, we saw the horses, one pony, and to dogs all walking together along the beach. These moments always happen when you don't have a camera on you. Darn! ;)

To tell you the truth, I'm getting a bit restless. I'm ready to hit the road again. Even though we've only been on the coast for three days. :D

I've got some pictures here. So, here goes:

This was when we were at the beach yesterday.

Here are some pictures of the RV.

Here, me and Sammy are in a river. And me and my plants.

P.S. Sorry there's so many pictures.

Day 5

Hi peoples!

Well my family and I have been on Oregon coast for two days. I can't keep track on how many times we have been to the beach. I have a black lab that loves to swim so I bring him to the beach with me. I wish you could see him jumping in the waves, going after birds. It's the cutest thing!

The campsite we are at has a horse camp with it. So yesterday me, my dad, my dog, and brothers went to go see some horses. We got to pet a pretty grey by the name of Godfree. It was his first time at a beach. Sammy (My dog) wanted to say hello but every time the horse moved his head to look at him. Sammy would get cold feet and hide behind us. Haha!

Since we sold our house to go on this trip. We took a lot of things with us. That includes my older brothers, Shane's keyboard. Today was his first day playing it on the road. Shane is really good. He likes playing soundtracks from movies, especially Pirates of the Caribbean.

My dad brought his practice drum pad. And he's good at the drums. Usually he'll listen to music and drum to the music. I think he also wants to learn the piano and guitar.

As for me, I bought my Ukulele. I'm not good at all. I'm still learning. I'm also trying to keep a garden with me on the road. I have fabric pots that I got from Amazon to keep the plants in. I have two tomatos and one pepper plant. I had a lettuce plant but since I have to put them in the back of the truck when traveling, the wind killed it. But that's fine. The heat would have gotten to it anyway.

My two other family members (My mom and little bro Jack) didn't bring any musical instruments.

I guess that's all for now! Write soon!

-Rusty

P.S. I've been trying to get pictures up. But I can't get them to show up. I'll keep trying.

Day 2

Hi peoples!

Today is the official second day of our family adventure across America. Guess it's kinda weird that I start blogging on the second day and not the first. Anyway, here we are in Boardman, Oregon. The campsite we are at is interesting. It has an inside pool! Which my brother and I love. It's a pretty good sized area here. Not a lot of grass though. We are actually leaving today to head to Portland to visit the beach and our friends. After about a week there, we will head over to the east coast to visit my grandparents in Maryland. I'm hoping to go crabbing there. I've never been crabbing, but I love crabs. Crab cakes are pretty good too. My mom likes them I lot.

Once I get to Portland, I'll send some pictures.
